Who Are We?
As an Area Agency, One Sky Community Services has provided services to individuals with intellectual, developmental, and acquired brain injuries for 38 years. We support 1,200 individuals and families throughout the seacoast.
What Will I Do?
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP)/Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with diverse needs and abilities, providing essential care and assistance.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Assist individual in developing living skills, teach work related skills, support individual in the job search process and job performance.
- May drive individual's vehicle or personal vehicle transporting individual to community programs or work.
- Act as an advocate for the individual. Assists individual to achieve personal goals, overcome barriers, help individual participate in activities of their choice and respects individual's personal beliefs, choices, and interests.
- Serve as a role model and mentor, demonstrating desired behaviors, and coaches the individual using approved techniques and strategies.
- Ensures the implementation of Individual Service Agreement and goals, and documents outcomes accurately and in a timely fashion.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disability, preferred but not required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and record, acceptable to agency insurance carrier, and a reliable form of transportation.
- Candidates should be willing to submit background checks; please allow a few weeks for background checks to process before the start date.
Job Type: Part-Time
Pay: $21.00 per hour
Expected Hours: 15 hours a week
