Assigned days and/or shift can be changed according to staffing needs. Must be available evenings, holidays, and weekends as required.

Position Summary

The Eye Bank Supervisor (EBS) is responsible for the oversight of the Eye Bank daily operations. The EBS will supervise the Eye Bank operations staff and monitor ocular tissue processing, placement and distribution performance of the program.
The EBS performs all duties and responsibilities in compliance with policies and procedures (P&Ps), regulations as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations, Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA) standards, and other applicable federal, state, and local laws. Assumes 24-hour responsibility in rotation with other department staff.

Duties and Responsibilities
1.Supervises all Eye Bank Activities and Eye Bank staff.
2.The EBS serves as the Ocular Medical Director Designee for OneLegacy.
3.Oversees Eye Bank laboratory, equipment maintenance, facility cleaning, prepares logs for monthly review, and necessary supplies.
4.Trains new Eye Bank staff.
5.Coordinates preparation of Policies and Procedures (P&Ps) for Eye Bank functions with Eye Bank Program Manager.
6.Develops and executes operational plans for making OneLegacy donor corneas available to corneal surgeons.
7.Supervises coordinates eye bank operations staff scheduling.
8.Monitors and tracks Eye Bank key performance indicators (KPI) and provides constructive feedback to all impacted OneLegacy Departments to meet and/or exceed performance indicators to industry standards.
9.Ensures that eye tissue billing is input into digitalDONOR on a timely basis.
10.Ensures that data to Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA) for EBAA Annual Statistical Report is submitted timely.
11Tracks ocular tissue recovery performance metrics and provides regularly reports to Recovery Department.
12.Regularly schedules meetings with department leadership for direction and follow-up.

13.The EBS collaborates with the Recovery department for Eye Bank functions such as: annual cornea excisions competency assessments, new hire corneal recovery training, and EBAA letter of authorization tasks
14.Participates on the call schedule to screen potential ocular tissue donors for the eye bank.
15.Verifies and approves daily timesheets records.

Quality Assurance Oversight
1.Assists with Event investigation and implements CAPA as required.
2.Assists and facilitates QS Walk Through Audits performed by OneLegacy Compliance Department
3.Collaborates with Quality Systems, in coordination with Eye Bank Program Manager as required, to develop corrective action plans in response to internal and external audits.
4.Ensures that staff are compliant with reading, documenting and signing off on P&Ps.
Other Responsibilities.
1.Responsible for providing customer service in a professional manner when working with processors, hospitals, patients, guests
2.Ensures that performance appraisals are completed within company guidelines.
3.Attends applicable department staff meetings.
4.Attends annual hazard communication and control safety training sessions for Cal-OSHA, contract processors, and other training programs, as deemed necessary by the Eye Bank Program Manager.
5.Ensures that all duties and responsibilities are performed in compliance with safety guidelines, policies and procedures, regulations as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations, and other applicable federal, state and local laws.
Performs quality control practices as defined by the policies and procedures.
6.Supports the organization’s Standards of Professional Conduct as outlined in the OneLegacy Policies and Procedures, and the mission, vision and values of the organization.
7.The EBS will cover two of the following major holidays; one from each of the two (2) groups below:
Group I
 Memorial Day
 Fourth of July
 Labor Day
 New Year’s Day
Group II
 Thanksgiving Day
 Christmas Eve
 Christmas Day
 New Year’s Eve
8.Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Physical Environment/Working Conditions:

Location: Corporate Offices
Travel: Occasionally required to travel by personal auto or air to meeting sites and other locations.
Work Hours: Exempt employees shall be paid an established salary on a bi-weekly basis and are expected to fulfill the duties of their position regardless of hours worked. The workweek for full-time exempt employees is normally considered to be 40 hours; however, greater emphasis is placed on meeting the responsibilities assigned to the position than on working a specified number of hours. Exempt employees are not eligible to receive overtime compensation. Must be available evenings, holidays, and weekends as required.

Job Qualifications and Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) from an accredited four-year college or university preferred.
Experience: A minimum of three (1) years’ experience in eye/tissue banking is required. One year of supervisor experience preferred.
Certification/License:CEBT certification to be obtained within 12 months of hire which must be maintained for the duration of the employment. OneLegacy requires employees to maintain a current California driver’s license and current vehicle insurance.
