Lead Copywriter

The Role
We are currently seeking a Lead Copywriter to support Originations for our Creative Marketing team in Baltimore, MD or Wilmington, DE. This is an exciting opportunity for a multi-disciplined senior writer, with a focus on building and scaling industry-leading digital lending applications and experiences for our customers, consistent with our brand.

Touching many parts of the customer journey, the ideal candidate will possess a strong and robust copywriting portfolio with experience in brand identity, email marketing, and UX. They will partner with leadership and members of the creative team, designers, marketing partners and product managers, and other stakeholders to shape current and future digital experiences for our customers in the Originations phase of their journey.

A successful candidate will possess a strong copywriting portfolio and demonstrate an ability to produce clear, compelling writing for complex digital projects across the end-to-end project cycle. In addition, this candidate will need to demonstrate an ability to partner with the leadership team and develop solutions that are executable and meaningful in practice.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute descriptive, concise and impactful copy for widely used digital products as well as the other communication touchpoints that surround those experiences
• Lead and manage the overall voice of the brand through the application stage of the customer journey
• Partner with both creative marketing and UX designers to ensure a cohesive and clearly understandable customer journey
• Leverage and contribute to brand and copy standards and formatting to represent OneMain effectively and maximize customer experience
• Communicate effectively with creative directors, design leads, product management and other key stakeholders

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 7 years of copywriting experience; preferably writing for conversions in an e-Commerce environment or for B2C products.
• Strong experience in using Figma
• Adept at connecting all phases of the user journey (marketing/loyalty and user web flows) to the work they are assigned, including email marketing and SMS.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment working with cross-functional teams.
• Must have strong communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Solid presenter and can explain copy rationale and best practices.
• Creative thinker with a solid portfolio that showcases range, creativity and strong writing.
• Must be able to turn around copy under high-pressured timelines, take feedback and adapt copy to fit changes.
• Must be able to provide constructive feedback and help manage creative team deadlines.
• Experience writing and developing creative in-house for a brand preferred.
• Expert understanding of marketing campaign development and the various mediums and channels to execute a campaign: print, video/film, social, digital marketing, email, promotions, e-commerce, retail, wholesale.
• Ability to write for several different audiences at once.

• Ability to take responsibility for all copy management and delegation on complex projects concurrently.
• Comfortable with working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Some UX content writing experience preferred
• Experience in Miro and Workfront preferred
