Summary:
Punch press operators are responsible for setting up and operating a punch press and other miscellaneous machines. The job includes setting up and running parts to OnePointe Solutions’ quality standards, ensuring the press is in good operating conditions, properly documenting filling out all required paperwork, and the area is kept clean and orderly. Operators will be responsible for all work performed in this department from scheduling, setup, inspection, washing, and trucking of their parts and other duties with minimal supervision.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Acquire tooling as appropriate for the job and set up the machine. After the punch press operation, remove tooling and transfer tooling back to respective locations as appropriate.
- Punch press operation.
- Ability to read and follow blueprints, routings, manufacturing instruction sheets, inspection cards, and drawings.
- Inspect for various defects during the operation of presses, and accurately document such inspections using an inspection card.
- Ability to troubleshoot and correct defective parts. Segregate defects and communicate to Supervisor or Quality Department.
- Ability to learn and use various measurement and testing equipment (CMM, Height gauges, hardness tester, micrometers, calipers, 6" rule, etc..)
- Ability to become a certified forklift operator.
- Ability to identify operational problems and ask for assistance.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- High attention to detail
- Diligent use of personal protective equipment
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Must be at least 18 years or older.
- Must have some basic math and reading skills
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship OR successful completion of an in-company, three-year training program required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to weld vertical, flat, or overhead components.
- Must be able to visually inspect parts.
- Ability to lift 15-30 lbs. throughout the shift.
- Manual dexterity
