We are looking for a mission-driven Laboratory Technician to join our team!
The Laboratory Technician works to provide timely and accurate onsite laboratory services; they collect specimens from patients, perform in-house testing, prepare specimens for outside testing, and record lab results. The Lab Tech is also responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, supplies, records, and procedures in accordance with OSHA, CLIA, OneWorld Community Health Center’s Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) and other applicable standards. The Laboratory Technician works to provide timely and accurate onsite laboratory services; they collect specimens from patients, perform in-house testing, prepare specimens for outside testing, and record lab results. The Lab Tech is also responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, supplies, records, and procedures in accordance with OSHA, CLIA, OneWorld Community Health Center’s Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) and other applicable standards.
This is a part-time position located on our main campus (30th & L). The schedule will be 20 hours per week; Monday-Friday, 8:00am-12:00pm
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior phlebotomy training preferred.
- Phlebotomy training certification required within three months of hire.
- Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, AMT, ASPT, or NHA preferred.
- Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) or a Medical Assisting diploma preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Previous phlebotomy experience with patients of all ages preferred.
- Proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office products required; experience with an Electronic Health Record preferred.
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish required.
- Demonstrated ability to relate with warmth and empathy to OneWorld patients and staff.
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
