Description
Under the general supervision of a section supervisor,. the medical laboratory technician performs all laboratory procedures in a prompt, accurate, and reliable manner according to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Obtains blood samples from the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a hospital setting.
As part of the job description of all employees of the Onslow County Hospital Authority, the employee may be directed to render services within the scope of his/her job description to an affiliate of the Onslow County Hospital Authority pursuant to an arrangement between the two entities. In such instances, the employee will be acting within the scope of his/her employment by the Authority, as an employee whose services have been leased to the affiliated entity.
Qualifications
Education/Certifications:
Associate in Science degree in medical laboratory science.
ASCP certification as a medical laboratory technician or eligible preferred
Experience:
Experience (over 2 years) preferred
