Dental Office Patient Advocate
The Dental Office Patient Advocate will support all business operations of a high production dental practice. This position is critical in our mission to serve patients more efficiently and with high levels of compassion, and overall professionalism. This position requires the desire and ability to provide exceptional customer/patient service. The perfect candidate must be friendly and outgoing, as well as technically saavy, detail-oriented and organized. He or she will assist, administrate and facilitate all business-related duties for our office, including reception, scheduling, patient check-in and check-out, collecting patient and insurance portions, managing Accounts Receivable, and all aspects of patient dental insurance. This person is also responsible for ensuring effective patient communications – telephone, electronic and in-person. The ability to effectively multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment is a must for this position
Essential Job Duties and Primary Responsibilities: (This is not intended to be a complete list.)
- Respond efficiently to the needs of patients, doctors and co-workers according to company policies and procedures, healthcare requlations and dental board standards
- Ensure accurate account management for our patients
- Assist with patient scheduling and direct patient traffic flow
- Prepare and present treatment plans and financial arrangements
- Oversee accurate processing of dental claims and insurance collections
- Manage specialist referral process
- Oversee collections and accounts receivable and make sure they remain current.
- Maintain patient data according to regulations and company policies
- Ensure that records are stored securely and in compliance with privacy and security regulations
- Take responsibility for the appearance and functionality of the office

Minimum Requirements:
- Associates degree in Business Administration, Medical Office Administration, or other similar degree required.
- 2-4 years experience as an Accounting Assistant or Business Administrator in a dental or medical office, or other similar business required.
- 3 years of experience with EagleSoft Practice Management Software strongly preferred. Experience in medical and/or dental insurance coding and billing preferred.
Compensation:
- $15 - $20/hour Depending on Experience.
