What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dance Instructor position at Open Arts?
Open Arts is hiring passionate and experienced dance instructors for our 2024-2025 Season in dance, musical theater, and acro. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with children and a passion for movement and dance. The successful candidate will be able to create engaging and challenging classes, while also providing a safe and supportive learning environment for students. We are looking for someone who is creative, organized, and has the ability to motivate and inspire students of all ages and skill levels.
Responsibilities:
- Teach dance classes according to the studio's curriculum.
- Demonstrate proper technique and form in all classes.
- Maintain a safe and positive learning environment for all students.
- Provide feedback and corrections to students in a constructive manner.
- Adapt instruction to meet the needs of all students.
- Communicate with parents regarding student progress.
- Assist in the development of choreography for performances.
Specific Roles we are looking to fill:
- Saturday Mornings for PreSchool Ballet, PreSchool and Kinder Ballet and Tap, and 1st-2nd Grade Ballet and Tap.
- Wednesday Afternoons for 1st-2nd Grade Ballet and Tap
- Wednesday Evenings for Elementary and Middle School Acro
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2 – 4 per week
Schedule:
- After school
- Every weekend
