Overview
Become a vital part of our team as a Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS). Your responsibilities include researching, designing, implementing, and evaluating behavior programs tailored to the needs of developmentally disabled adults. In addition, you will review and redesign ongoing programs in alignment with regulatory guidelines and recommendations from the Human Rights Committee (HRC). Responsibilities
• Is responsible for the development, review, and revision of behavior programs inclusive of data collection and entry into database(s).• Creates, revises and designs data sheets as needed for behavior plans.• Collaborates with managers to ensure integrity of reporting.• Prepares behavioral reports and conducts behaviroal assesments as needed• Provides crisis intervention and supportive counseling for the people we support.• Coordinates and conducts staff training. Works with the Training Department to provide in-service training for staff.• Consults with members of the treatment team to develop person centered approaches to behavioral challenges.• Meets with and observes the people we support to address and monitor behaviors.• Attends meetings and training as assigned.• Follows federal, state and local governmental regulatory guidelines pertaining to a safe, healthy, and clean work environment, reporting health and safety concerns to the supervisor.
Qualifications
• A bachelor’s degree in psychology and one year of experience working with an IDD or Mental Health population.• Must be computer literate, can design acceptable Behavior Support Plans for Developmental Disability population, and have good interpersonal skills.• The ability to turn, lift and assist individuals with movement.• This position operates in a professional office environment. • This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.
Salary - $60,000 - $70,000 based on experience
