About Operation Restoration:
Operation Restoration (OR) supports women and girls impacted by incarceration to recognize their full potential, restore their lives, and discover new possibilities. At OR, we focus on advocacy, education, economic mobility, and true economic equity for our staff, clients, and community. Our goal is to end the incarceration of women and girls. Incarceration is defined as confinement in prison, jail, immigrant, juvenile or military detention, or a deportation facility. Directly impacted women and girls are those that are or have been incarcerated, arrested, are on probation and/or parole.
About the Position:
Under the direction of the Quality Care Innovator, the Bail Disrupter is a staff member committed to racial and economic justice. This position is responsible for securing people’s release, disrupting the criminal legal system, and fighting mass incarceration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Evaluate potential clients for eligibility.
- Meet with clients to conduct a needs assessment and refer them to necessary services to support them after release.
- Provide clients with reminders about upcoming court dates and arrange emergency transportation support, where needed. Input required data into Salesforce and Apricot in a timely manner and consistent with organizational policies.
- Comply with OR's recordkeeping and banking policies, including but not limited to:
- Following policies with respect to banking, e.g., making funds transfer requests, only using cashier’s checks, and maintaining the Funds on Hand spreadsheet
- Uploading documentation for all bail and bank transactions on the day the transaction takes place
- Participating in the weekly reconciliation process to promptly resolve any discrepancies
- Entering client data into Salesforce and designated banking drive
- Monitors and administers the Safety and Freedom Fund by completing the following tasks:
- Receive bond referrals from partners including Orleans Public Defenders Office, private attorneys, community partners, etc.
- Review docket master to see if the person has failures to appeal, charge, amount of bond and if the charge meets the criteria for posting bail
- Communicate with relatives or friends (contact person) to see if they would consent to remind the person to report to court, and let them know when bail will be posted
- Review Docket Master every day to update each case, as needed
- If they appear and the case is closed, update case on Salesforce
- If the person fails to appear, document in Salesforce and Apricot
- Develop and maintain community partnerships as they relate to the Safety and Freedom Fund and Operation Restoration as a whole
- Collaborate on a daily basis with Operation Restoration staff to ensure organizational effectiveness
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties related to Operation Freedom, as assigned
Desired Qualifications and Skills:

- Ability to multi-task and problem solve.
- Be comfortable taking appropriate initiative
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Experience working with formerly incarcerated women preferred.
- Commitment to criminal justice reform
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google products
- Ability to work well with diverse individuals and groups, balance needs and employ objectivity
- Ability to manage timelines, prioritize multiple products and meet demanding deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to meet client needs and organizational changes
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation for the position is competitive and commensurate with experience. Employee benefits include 75% employer-paid medical, 50% employer paid dental and vision, a generous PTO policy, STD, Simple IRA with immediate employer match and 12 paid holidays
