Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm
Highlights of the position:
- Provides excellent customer service by demonstrating kindness, professionalism, resourcefulness, and proficiency, ensuring work is patient-centered and mission-focused.
- Accurately and efficiently responds to and processes release of information requests, ensuring delicate care and discretion while safeguarding private patient information.
- Is a good steward of health information management and follows all appropriate protocols. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of HIPAA, State and Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, and applicable policies and procedures.
- Assists in maintaining compliance with quality assurance standards.
- Is flexible in adapting to the needs of the HIM department, stepping in to answer phones, providing support with patient requests, and more.
- Engages and supports patients to ensure they feel heard, respected, and involved in their care and experience.
- Collaborates to improve the patient experience and processes related to release of information. Reports concerns, identifies opportunities, and forwards recommendations to Leadership for review.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate’s degree or certificate in health information management or health information technology preferred.
- One year work experience in Release of Information in a medical office or healthcare setting required.
- Advanced knowledge of HIPAA, State and Federal Regulations related to release of information required.
- 1 year of AthenaPractice or EMR experience required.
