Duties and Responsibilities
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all daily warehouse operations while serving as a hands-on leader who motivates, guides, and supports the warehouse team. This role involves supervising and improving all inbound, outbound, and internal inventory processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and high levels of customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate leads by example and fosters a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Make operational decisions during freight sorting based on route volume, including determining the need to call in or release drivers.
- Ensure route dispatching is loadbalanced according to DSP/TPC driver capacity.
- Oversee morning dispatch activities, including handling returns, bad addresses, and misshipments.
- Monitor package disposition and maintain communication with drivers to support efficient deliveries.
- Monitor daily operational and process compliance (driver logs, facility upkeep, vehicle maintenance, and telematics connectivity).
- Conduct training for new and existing drivers (employees and DSP/TPC drivers).
- Monitor drivers throughout their delivery shifts until responsibilities are transferred to the designated CSR.
- Manage schedules and payroll for facility employees, including dispatchers, drivers, and sorters.
- Identify operational gaps and implement effective solutions, including negotiating new route rates based on volume and geographic needs.
- Provide employee coaching, support, and feedback; participate in performance evaluations; and address individual and team performance concerns.
- Provide route coverage when needed, using a company vehicle or, on occasion, a personal vehicle.
- Maintain pride in warehouse and office conditions, ensuring cleanliness of the facility and company vehicles.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Availability for occasional weekend work.
- 35 years of supervisory experience.
- Familiarity with routing and mapping systems.
- Experience with excel.
- Fulltime salary position based on a 40hour work week; typical hours are 6:00 AM2:00 PM. Requires availability for afterhours calls as needed.
Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
