What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Electronic Health Records Assistant position at Optimae LifeServices?
Optimae LifeServices in the Central Iowa Region has an opening for a full-time Regional Electronic Health Records Assistant. The Regional Electronic Health Records Assistant will be responsible for providing support and ongoing training of the EHR system. This position will work in conjunction with the Regional EHR specialist to develop, organize, and maintain systems for implementation and utilization of the EHR system efficiently and effectively.
Duties include:
- Promotes teamwork and builds morale.
- Ability and willingness to travel to multiple counties within the Central Iowa Region.
- Performs job in compliance with agency policies and procedures and with direction from the Regional EHR Specialist.
- Assists the Regional EHR Specialist in coordination, training, and implementation of the EHR system for programs within Optimae
- Provides ongoing training and development support to users at all levels for EHR applications on a scheduled basis.
- Serves as information resource for teams. Including determination of the most appropriate data source, providing or arranging application-based report writing, and/or educating users to retrieve the information themselves.
Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma. Associate degree or bachelor's preferred.
- Valid Iowa driver's license and proof of insurance.
- Must have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Ability to foster communication, cooperation, and problem solving between people and teams.
- Understand and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Utilize tools specific to training staff. (e.g. EHR training materials, Tutorials, Browser manuals, etc.)
- Ability to adhere to a flexible schedule to meet the needs of staff and customers.
- Proficient computer skills and knowledge is needed, especially skills in software suites such as Excel, graphic programs, Outlook, etc.
- Must be organized and able to multi-task well.
- A basic knowledge of Electronic Health Record processes, rules and regulations is preferred.
