Job Description Options for Youth is a free, year round public charter school who works alongside their students to design individualized learning plans. We work to effectively meet their unique academic, social-emotional, and scheduling needs through a blended teaching model, utilizing one-on-one instruction and tutoring, independent study, online learning, small group classes, cultural immersion, and hands-on activities to prepare our students for success. The primary goal of this position is to assist in teaching the necessary concepts to students within the designated subject matter. Our ideal candidate will: Provide open tutoring as scheduled both in the math room and in the main room of the center Post and market availability of tutoring along with schedule Maintain a consistent schedule as arranged with their supervisor Provide support to the teachers as needed Create tracking system which indicates student appointment times, progress, and areas of improvement Have clear communication with the Math SGI teachers to support students in class who are struggling We’ll need you to have the following requirements: Proficient math knowledge thru Algebra II and Geometry Proficient computer knowledge and previous experience with Microsoft software Minimum high school diploma or equivalent Pay: $20.57/hr. - $25.14/hr. - Depending on experience Location(s): Hawthorne, CA This is a year round position serving high school students, grades 9-12.
