Position Responsibilities:
- Scanning all medical documentation and inserting scanned documents into the appropriate patient medical record
- Working all faxes, ensuring all incoming faxes are distributed to the appropriate person or department
- Preparing conference books for Physician legal appointments
- Processing record requests and FMLA/Disability forms
- Answering Medical Records related phone calls
- Assisting Work Comp Insurance Specialists as needed
- Filling in for the Switchboard Operator as needed for vacations, breaks and lunches
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- One year of medical records experience is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills - ability to effectively communicate and interact with patients, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of personal computer applications and Electronic Medical Record
