Production Supervisor

Position Summary:

Under immediate direction of the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor works closely with the Line Operators during the manufacturing process of lip balm, breath sprays, drops, hand sanitizer and sunscreens. Performs assigned support activities using sanitary techniques and approved operating procedures. The Production Supervisor is the subject matter expert for all department machines, equipment and procedures.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Serves Organization as a role model.

1.1. Performs duties in compliance with all applicable regulatory and accrediting agencies, including but not limited to Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) regulations, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

1.2. Responsible for maintaining a high level of Excellence, by conducting business and self in a professional manner.

1.3. Lead daily shift huddles to ensure all corporate communications are passed down to all employees.

1.4. Conduct employee performance reviews (annually).

1.5. Fully responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work space.

1.6. Responsible for completing assigned Deviations and CAPAs.

2. Responsible for the operations and quality of all assigned Fill Operations, following and adhering to established procedures.

2.1. Performs and directs assigned team to conduct proper and thorough line clearance and start-up procedures.

2.2. Investigates Root Cause for sudden increases of scrap or less than desired product, by working directly with the Quality staff and Fill Room Supervisor to establish countermeasures to prevent sudden spikes.

2.3. Responsible for ensuring machines are working perfectly every time by performing various checks throughout the run. Should the machine run outside of optimal performance, the Fill Supervisor.

2.4. Will add detailed notes to Quality Portal and Maintenance portal indicating the specific problem and the affect the problem is having on the product quality.

2.5. Supervisor will assign tasks to meet customer expectations. Including but not limited to, training of new personnel.

2.6. Other duties of machine operators include proper documentation of the machines performance, hourly quality results and issues that arise that could affect the overall quality of the product.

2.7. Responsible for schedule compliance by planning labor and issuing assignments to meet the demands of the schedule.

3. Responsible for professional, communication practices while performing daily job duties.

3.1. Fully investigates all discrepancies, malfunctions, or problems and establishes a root cause to present to the Production Manager for proper resolution.

3.2. Ensure all work and documentation are for completeness, accuracy, and quality.

3.3. Partners with Material Handlers to achieve production goals, by communicating potential material outages in a timely manner.

3.4. Resolves issues with Quality employees in a professional manner.

3.5. Work directly with the Quality to maintain current training records for departmental employees.

3.6. Provide orientation to new employees as to general production operations, line familiarization, safety rules and all applicable policies and procedures

4. Deviations and CAPAs

4.1 Identify and investigate non-conformance situations with potential impact to product requirements and specifications from a written procedure or other sources such as customer complaints, internal and external audits

4.2 Document all collected data and provide a valid justification

4.3 If a CAPA procedure is required after the deviation investigation, validate and implement a corrective action to prevent recurrence of the problem and to meet stablished quality standards of the product

4.4 Deviations and CAPAs shall be completed accurately and in a timely manner as required

Education or Formal Training:

High School Education or Equivalent preferred or related experience or training

A combination of education and experience will also suffice.

Experience:

At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing setting.

Proven and verifiable leader of multiple teams.

Basic understanding of Manufacturing terms ( FIFO, GMP, BOM, ETC.)

Knowledge:

MRP Functionality and Transactions

Basic business etiquette.

Skills and Abilities:

Basic understanding and ability to navigate computer systems

Excellent organizational skills

Excellent Communication

Excellent hand and eye coordination

Ability to handle high stress environment

Ability to lift 20 pounds

Ability to sit, walk and/or stand for eight hours

Long periods of standing required

Moderate level of noise from production line operation

Overtime may be required to meet production goals
