What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Teachers - Middle/High School position at Orange East Supervisory Union?
Orange East Supervisory Union (which is comprised of the following schools: Bradford Elementary School, Blue Mountain Union School, Newbury Elementary School, Oxbow Middle/High School, River Bend Career and Technical Center, Thetford Elementary School, and Waits River Valley School) is seeking to hire two (2) middle/high school level Special Education Teachers starting with the 2024-2025 school year. One position will be assigned to Blue Mountain Union School and the other will be assigned to Oxbow Middle/High School.
The Special Education Teacher is responsible for instructing students in basic skills using a variety of approaches and strategies including co-teaching. Consistent with state and federal law, the Special Education Teacher case manages, coordinates and provides an effective and efficient system of Special Education and Support Services designed to meet the needs of assigned students, and effectively integrate students into the least restrictive environment.
