What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse - Infusion position at Orbit Infusion Solutions, LLC?

Orbit Infusion Solutions is a home infusion company providing infusion therapy for patients in the comfort of their home. We are partnered with specialty pharmacies across the state. We currently provide the following therapies in-home:

  • Immunotherapies: IVIG & SCIG
  • Alpha 1 Therapy
  • Hemophilia Therapy
  • Biologic Therapy
  • Inotropic Therapy
  • Antibiotic Therapy
  • Teach and train for various medications

What are we looking for?

The primary function of the Home Infusion Registered Nurse is to provide exceptional in-home IV infusion therapy, nursing care, and response management. In addition, the Home Infusion Registered Nurse will administer and monitor patients in the home during treatment and pride the necessary education on treatment regimen, condition management and treatment self-administration when appropriate. In short, we are looking for an exceptional nurse with strong IV skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend hands-on Training
  • Complete training for new/specialty infusion therapies
  • Provide patient clinical coordination in a variety of environments including patient's home, infusion suites, hospitals, nursing homes, and doctor offices.
  • Train patients in the self-administration of treatments and how to quickly recognize and respond to symptoms of adverse physical reactions to treatments.
  • Maintain open communication with your Regional Nurse Manager, Staffing Coordinator, and other team members regarding scheduling, patient assignments and clinical matters.
  • Coordinate with your Regional Nurse Manager to address changes in patient condition or drug management issues.
  • Document all interactions and communication with patients, plan of treatment, assessment, treatments, patient responses/reactions to treatment, the status of the disease process, and training activities in a timely manner using company-issued tools.

Qualifications:

  • Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of practice.
  • Current CPR Certification (BLS) required
  • Valid Driver's License in good standing
  • One other proof of ID (i.e. Social Security Card of passport)

Physical exam, completed within the last 24 months

2-5 years of relevant working experience preferred including at least one year as a specialized RN in acute or home care/home infusion environment with strong intravenous insertion skills, competent port access, and other central venous access experience in the last 24 months.

  • Willing and able to work independently in home or alternate-site settings.
  • Strong IV skills

Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills are required.

  • Travel up to a 50-mile radius one way from your home.
  • Willingness to dedicate at least 20 hours per month in your area, if offered.
