This is a limited duration appointment that is expected to end on or before April 30, 2025. Limited duration appointments are benefits eligible and have a designated maximum length of service. This position has the potential to become permanent.

A Day In The Life
- Administer and maintain the mainframe development environment.
- Provide direction and mentor team in software development lifecycle maturity efforts.
- Enhance and mature testing procedures and development of supporting tools.
- Work closely with business partners to successfully deliver solutions to meet business needs.
- Lead, analyze, research and evaluate new products, approaches and technology directions with focus on how they may be integrated into ODOT technology.
- Coordinate efforts to integrate systems with state, federal and third-party systems.
- Promote and facilitate consistent representation and usage of data, data integration and data integrity throughout the organization across multiple databases and platforms.
- Lead efforts in documenting the current state of systems, to better establish the future direction in alignment with organization directives.
- Develop mitigation strategies in support of business continuance to ensure ongoing organizational business.
- Work with other sections, branch managers and agencies to enable successful delivery of projects in support of business goals and objectives.
- Work in an office environment with hybrid work options available.

Minimum Qualifications
Six (6) years of information systems experience in application development and production for IS applications
OR
An associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field AND four (4) years of information systems experience in application development and production for IS applications
OR
A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field AND two (2) years of information systems experience in application development and production for IS applications
OR
Master's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.

- Demonstrated experience in Endevor administration.
- Deep understanding of Mainframe technologies including COBOL, IBM DB2, TSO/ISPF, REXX/CLIST, PANVALET, SYNCSORT, ESP Scheduler, SIM2000, AQT, JCL and SQL.
- Demonstrated experience designing, developing, monitoring and maintaining DB2 databases.
- Demonstrated experience of reverse engineering complex systems.
- Demonstrated experience using tools to build test database environments.
