Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Food & Beverage Manager to lead our restaurant, lounge, banquet, and event concession operations at the Oregon Garden Resort. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, a proven track record of managing high-volume food and beverage operations, and the ability to inspire and develop a dedicated team. As the Food & Beverage Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Garden View Restaurant, Fireside Lounge, and banquet events, ensuring high standards of service, quality, and guest satisfaction. You will also play a key role in coordinating food and beverage services for special events, including the Silverton Christmas Market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all food and beverage operations, including the Garden View Restaurant, Fireside Lounge, banquet/events, and seasonal activities.
- Manage and develop a team of front-of-house and back-of-house staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and maintain menus for the restaurant, lounge, and events, ensuring variety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor and maintain inventory, ordering, and cost controls to achieve financial goals and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations and standards.
- Create a positive guest experience by maintaining high standards of service, addressing guest feedback, and continuously improving the overall dining experience.
- Develop and work with marketing on promotional strategies to increase restaurant and lounge revenue.
- Coordinate with other departments for special events, group bookings, and guest needs.
- Lead the execution of food and beverage services for large-scale events, including the Silverton Christmas Market, which features festive food and beverage offerings, live entertainment, and a unique holiday atmosphere.
- Conduct regular staff meetings to ensure effective communication and alignment with company goals.
Qualifications:
- High School or GED certificate or completion of a technical or vocational program.
- A bachelor's degree in hospitality management or a related field is preferred or two years in food and beverage management.
- Prior experience in food and beverage management, with a strong background in restaurant operations.
- Excellent leadership, verbal/written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of food and beverage cost control techniques.
- Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems and restaurant management software.
- Flexible availability including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Experience in managing food and beverage operations for special events, especially large-scale or seasonal events, is a plus.
- Food Handler and OLCC (Oregon Liquor Control Commission) permits are required.
