Position Summary


The Executive Director (ED) is the chief executive officer of the Oregon Mozart Players (OMP) and is responsible for leading the organization’s overall strategy, fundraising, and public presence.


This is a development-centered position focused on donor relations, sponsorship, and strategic leadership, while day-to-day operations are overseen by the Director of Operations and Administration (DOA). The ED partners closely with the Artistic Director (AD) and Board of Directors to ensure OMP’s artistic and financial vitality.


OMP is a lean and collegial organization with a flattened structure designed for collaboration rather than hierarchy. The Executive Director works in close partnership with the Artistic Director, Director of Operations and Administration, and Board of Directors to guide strategy, fundraising, and community impact. This structure offers high autonomy and meaningful input in all areas of the organization’s growth.


Qualifications


Required

  • Demonstrated success in nonprofit fundraising and relationship management.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and collaborative management abilities.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit governance and financial oversight.
  • Ability to represent OMP with professionalism and enthusiasm in the community.

Preferred

  • Experience in the performing arts, especially classical
  • Grant writing and event fundraising experience.
  • Understanding of Eugene’s arts ecosystem and local funding landscape.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Salary: $27-35,000 annually (commensurate with experience, no benefits).
  • FTE: 0.3–0.4 (approximately 12–16 hours/week, with seasonal fluctuations).
  • Some evening and weekend hours required for concerts, donor events, and board meetings.
  • Eligible for Oregon paid sick time in accordance with OR law.
