Job Title: Laborer
Position reports to: Plant Supervisor
Compensation Terms: 18.00 per hour to start (goes up the more you know)
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week Monday - Friday
Minimum Job Requirements: At least 1 year experience in concrete work or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work. Good attendance and positive attitude. Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment.
Desired Education/Skills: Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in concrete construction work. Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions. Knowledge of basic measurements and how to read a tape measure. Team oriented.
Job Duties-
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
- Strip and clean concrete forms.
- Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and concrete
- Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects
- Pours concrete, shovels, vibrates, and finishes.
- Maintains good housekeeping and safety regulations on the shop floor
- Performs basic carpentry skills.
- Perform other duties as requested by direct supervisor.
Additional Comments:
Planned and unplanned overtime may arise at any time, this individual must remain flexible to meet the additional workload. Hours of work can change significantly and typically requires adjustments as the construction season changes.
