In addition, the position will be adept at handling payroll software and financial software systems, reconciling payroll discrepancies, managing employee benefits deductions, and generating detailed reports for auditing and finance purposes.
Major Duties
Bachelor's degree in related discipline such as finance, accounting, business administration, or another related field. At least three years’ experience in payroll, accounting, or finance.

The work location for this position is the OSU Foundation’s Corvallis, Oregon office.
The Foundation offers a program called Core Work Days, a hybrid approach combining remote and in office work days. Unless traveling for work, Foundation employees are in office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and work remotely, if preferred, on Monday and Friday.

Major Duties
- Process Employee Payroll: Calculate wages, salaries, bonuses, and deductions accurately and ensure timely payroll processing (e.g., bi-weekly, monthly
- Maintain Payroll Records: Keep detailed and organized payroll files for employees, including timesheets, tax forms, and direct deposit information.
- Ensure Compliance: Stay updated and comply with federal, state, and local payroll laws, including tax regulations, wage laws, and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate payroll deductions for health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
- Reconcile Payroll Data: Cross-check payroll reports for errors, verify hours worked, resolve discrepancies, and ensure correct payouts.
- Generate Payroll Reports: Prepare and distribute payroll-related reports for management, finance, or auditing purposes
- Manage Year-End Reporting: Handle year-end tasks such as issuing W-2s, W-3s, and ensuring compliance with IRS regulations.
- Respond to Inquiries: Address employee questions related to pay, deductions, taxes, and resolve payroll-related issues promptly.
- Coordinate with HR and Finance: Work closely with the Accounting Manager, Human Resources and other Finance personnel to ensure accurate employee data and budget alignment.
- Process New Hires and Terminations: Set up payroll accounts for new employees and handle final paychecks and documentation for terminated employees.
- Review, validate and prepare for payment or process electronic (ACH) payment of all benefit related billings.
- Accounting for payroll withheld premiums and contributions, and any employer paid portions or contributions.
- Prepare Journal Entries and upload electronically into Financial Edge (FENXT) to account for payroll expenses and liabilities.
- Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to reconcile payroll-related General Ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and prepare any necessary journal entries to correct discrepancies.
- Assist the Accounting Manager with annual retirement plan audits for the MPP and 403(b)
- Assist the Accounting Manager with the preparation and updating of the 403(b) fee disclosure, at least annually.
- Other duties as assigned
- Stakeholder Relationship – Effectively serving as a reliable point of contact between employees of OSUF, vendors, and other external partners.
- Accurate payroll—Producing payroll and related reports accurately, timely and efficiently two times per month.
