We are seeking a hands-on Presales Solutions Leader to drive the technical solutioning, proposal creation, and resource planning for the professional services vertical of our Information Technology services company. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Sales Enablement, Technology Centers of Innovation (COIs), and Delivery to create compelling solutions, respond to presales inquiries, and build high-impact presentations and solution materials for prospective clients and new opportunities. You will play a key role in crafting RFP responses, ensuring technical feasibility, and guiding the creation of solution-focused content. Additionally, you will manage the financial and commercial aspects of proposals working with Business Management, including pricing, deal commercials, and identifying the required people resources for successful project delivery. Strong expertise in written communications, building presentations, and managing presales deliverables is critical.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Solution Development: Work closely with sales, technical, delivery, and deal teams to develop comprehensive and tailored technical solutions for clients, ensuring alignment with their business needs and objectives.
- RFP & Proposal Management: Oversee the creation of high-quality responses to RFPs (Requests for Proposals), RFIs (Requests for Information), and other formal presales documentation, ensuring all technical aspects are thoroughly addressed. Work with the Head of Business Management to make certain the right financials and commercial components of proposals, including pricing strategies, budget estimations, cost structures, and financial justification are completed to ensure profitability and competitiveness.
- Resource Planning: Collaborate with the project management and delivery teams to estimate and define the people resources needed for the successful execution of the project, ensuring the right mix of skills, experience, and team members are accounted for in proposals.
- Client-facing Presentations: Create and deliver impactful presentations, demos, and solution walkthroughs to potential clients, effectively communicating complex technical concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
- Collaboration Across Teams: Coordinate with Sales, Sales Enablement, Technology Centers of Innovation (COIs), and Delivery teams to gather insights, create technical content, and produce solution presentations and materials.
- Content Creation: Lead the development of presales collateral, including client-facing decks, technical documentation, and solution narratives, ensuring consistency and quality across all communication.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work directly with senior management and clients to understand their needs, challenges, and requirements, ensuring that our solution proposals are aligned with their expectations.
- Mentorship & Leadership: Provide leadership to each of the consulted presales team, offering guidance on best practices for technical solutioning, presentation development, and client communication. Foster a collaborative environment across departments.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve internal presales processes, tools, and templates to enhance efficiency and the quality of our proposal and solution creation.
- Technical Expertise: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure our solutions are cutting-edge and competitive.
- Client Sales Meetings: Actively participate in client sales meetings with the sales team, a continuous effort will be placed on learning more about our clients’ technical challenges that Orion can support along with continued mentoring of our sales team, helping them better understand potential opportunities with their clients and how they can best leverage them.
- Reporting: Provide BFSI industry vertical leadership with weekly updates on all presales deliverables.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Min 15 years in presales, technical solutioning, client communications and analysis, with at least 3 years in a managerial role within a technology consulting, Big 5 consulting and similar services firm.
- Technical Expertise: Good to have - in-depth knowledge of some of the technologies such as cloud, enterprise software, cybersecurity, AI, managed services, platforms with the ability to design and communicate complex technical solutions.
- Solutioning & Proposal Creation: Proven experience in creating compelling, client-focused solutions and developing clear, concise, and well-structured proposals (RFP responses, RFIs, etc.).
- Financial & Commercial Acumen: Experience in developing pricing strategies, estimating budgets, and managing the financial aspects of proposals to ensure profitability while being competitive in the market.
- Resource Planning: Ability to work with internal teams to estimate and allocate the correct number of people and skillsets needed for project execution and delivery.
- Communication & Presentation Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft professional, high-quality content and deliver impactful presentations to clients at all levels.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Experience working with cross-functional teams (sales, product, engineering, etc.) to develop solutions and align on business objectives.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with a track record of guiding teams to success and promoting collaboration across functions.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in all written materials, from technical documentation to client-facing decks.
- Project Management: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Client Presentation: Should be confident and comfortable in attending client presentations with the team and when needed present the solutions details.
