Orsman Design (ODI) is an award-winning design firm for interior and landscape lighting. With offices in Southampton, New York and Miami, ODI serves clients throughout the United States and internationally.
The Role:
Orsman Design is seeking a skilled Landscape Tree Climber to join our landscape lighting field team. This team is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of high‑end landscape lighting systems for residential properties. The role involves hands‑on fieldwork, tree‑based fixture installation, and collaboration with our design and project teams to ensure exceptional results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):
- Install, maintain, and repair landscape lighting systems in a variety of outdoor environments.
- Use professional tree‑climbing equipment to safely install and service lighting fixtures in trees.
- Ensure all fixtures are installed according to company standards and project specifications.
- Conduct nighttime reviews to adjust and fine‑tune fixture aiming for optimal lighting effects.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the warehouse, company vehicles, tools, and job sites.
- Complete daily worksheets documenting materials used, equipment inventory, and project progress.
- Travel to job sites within and outside the local area, including occasional out‑of‑state work.
- Manage and restock inventory in company vehicles; request additional materials as needed.
- Collect and submit expense receipts to the Accounting Team.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support project and team needs.
Other Special Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move boxes and equipment weighing at least 50 lbs.
- Physical capability to climb trees and work at heights for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record; subject to annual DMV review.
- Proficiency in spoken English to ensure safe and effective communication on job sites
Desired Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Electrical, Construction, Landscaping, Arborist/Tree Climbing, or related outdoor fieldwork.
- Prior experience with landscape lighting is a plus but not required.
Additional Information:
- Must be available to travel between 25% - 50% of the time
- Full benefit program including Firm contribution to 401k plan
- Week between Christmas and New Years is a paid holiday
- Must be employment authorized to work in the US and not require current or future visa sponsorship
