We are looking for a motivated and result-driven HR Generalist. Your role as an HR Generalist will be far from one-dimensional. You’ll undertake a wide range of HR tasks, like organizing training, administering employee benefits, helping to craft HR policies, and managing data to perform analytical tasks involving specific HR areas. You will use our Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential. You will also assist employees on HR-related topics and questions.
Ultimately, a top-notch HR Generalist will pay meticulous attention to detail and have excellent communication skills. The goal is to ensure the HR department’s operations will be running smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization.
HR Generalist Responsibilities:
- Prepare paperwork and schedules for smooth new-hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first day experience.
- Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new-hire orientations, including data entry in human resources information systems (HRIS) and audits for accuracy and compliance.
- Be the primary backup for payroll processing, including biweekly and semimonthly updates to employee files, bonus/incentive pay, vacation/sick pay, expense reimbursements, and benefits changes.
- Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart.
- Implementing relevant HR metrics to determine the efficiency and impact of the workforce.
- Analyzing data and statistics for trends regarding recruitment practices, motivation, and turnover.
- Compiling reports of data results and presenting these to the HR Manager.
- Evaluating jobs and reviewing both existing and new positions and communicating the results of this to HR Manager.
- Identifying why candidates and employees choose to work within a company and recommending areas in the workplace that can be improved.
- Reviewing job descriptions to impact positively on employee retention.
- Assist in administering compensation and benefit plans.
- Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes.
- Help promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
- Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies.
- Undertake tasks around performance management.
- Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics: i.e. time to fill, and employee turnover rates.
- Organize and help implement annual employee performance reviews.
- Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form.
- Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits and organizing team building activities.
- Ensure compliance with labor regulations.
Skills and Requirements Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in human resources or business.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience using human resource management systems (HRIS). Advanced knowledge of HRIS and ability to learn new technical systems, when necessary.
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies.
- The ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and the ability to create charts, spreadsheets, and presentations.
- Familiarity with HR operations, such as hiring, payroll, and employee benefits.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Resourceful mindset and strong attention to detail.
- An in-depth understanding of labor laws.
- HR Certification preferred.
