Description
The Surgery Scheduler schedules surgical cases and diagnostic tests for assigned physicians, consistent with patient needs and requests and physician preference. The Surgery Scheduler coordinates and schedules appointments for surgeries and follow up appointments and any other tests as ordered by the physician. The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for coordinating arrangements for Surgical Assistants, special equipment and surgical materials as needed. The Surgery Scheduler will be the primary contact for surgical patients.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years Healthcare Experience
- Knowledge of medical insurance and medical terminology
- Experience with electronic medical record systems
- Knowledge of Athena preferred
- Ability to keep a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be detailed oriented
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
