OrthoNY has an open position for an MRI Technologist. This position will perform orthopedic magnetic resonance procedures, computer processing and related techniques, produce images for interpretation by, or at the request of, a licensed practitioner
Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
- Corroborate patient's clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for the licensed practitioners' use
- Prepare patient for procedure providing instruction and education
- Select and operate magnetic resonance system and related equipment
- Maintain a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics
- Recognize essential conditions for successful completion of procedure
- Provide appropriate patient care
- Other responsibilities as needed.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability to perform the essential functions:
- Minimum of graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology
- Graduate from a Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited program in medical imaging or equivalent
- Valid NYSDOH license and current ARRT certification in the respective modality (MR – Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
- Additional education in sectional human anatomy a plus
- Experience in medical imaging
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Able to work irregular hours
- Reliable transportation is essential
