What are the responsibilities and job description for the MRI Technologist (Per Diem) position at Orthopaedic Specialty Group?

Educational Requirements:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent 2- year college or technical school.
  • ARRT (R) required.
  • ARRT (R)(MRI) preferred.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform MRI procedures as ordered with a high level of quality, care and timeliness.
  • Escort patients to dressing rooms and procedure room.
  • Explain MRI procedures and answer any questions or concerns.
  • Maintain and follow all MRI safety guidelines.
  • Complete related paperwork.
  • Administer I.V. contrast.
  • Conduct Quality Control when needed, monitor machine and equipment reporting any malfunctions to site supervisor/manager.
  • Assist Radiologist with Arthrogram procedure.
  • Assist in keeping the scan room clean and stocked.

Other:

  • Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice.
  • Maintains detailed knowledge of practice management and other computer software as it relates to job functions.
  • Attends regular staff meetings and continuing education sessions as requested.

Typical Physical Demands:Work may require sitting for long periods of time, and also stooping, bending and stretching for supplies. Position requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, operate a computer and MRI equipment, and other office equipment as necessary. Vision must be correctable to 20/20 and hearing must be in the normal range for telephone contacts.
