Orthopedic Associates Surgery Center (OASC) is seeking an experienced Team Lead Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our excellent team of professionals.
Shift: Monday - Friday 2:30pm-11pm
Some weekends as needed.

Position Purpose:
The Sterile Processing Employee is responsible for sterile processing of instrumentation and ordering surgery center supplies and equipment. Also, it fulfills the goals and contributes to the overall purpose and objectives of the surgery center.
Position Requirements:
Total Education, Vocational, Training, and Experience: High School graduate or equivalent, B.S preferred with 1-2 years of experience in medical supplies/equipment. Certification in Sterile Processing Techniques within 1 year of hire date. Ongoing.
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of inventory/stock procedures.
- Knowledgeable of equipment set-up.
- Demonstrated skill on computer input and our personal computer operation.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Alert to detail.
- Proficient with all aspects of SPD operations.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry articles 50 lbs. or over.
Lead Responsibilities:
- Assists SPD Manager with ensuring proper operational procedures are followed and completes required documentation/reporting.
- Assists and collaborates with SPD Manager on new employee orientation, on-the-job training, in-service education.
- Responsible for directing and communicating department workflow and tech work assignments.
- Point person for answering and responding to calls from the operating rooms.
- Collaborates with OR resource nurse and OR manager coordinating and prioritizing surgical needs to ensure timely delivery of sterilized instruments for cases.
- Identifies and leads process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure assignments are completed or assigned.
- Escalates facility/department issues or concerns to ensure proper resolution.
- Coordinates with vendors on new instrumentation IFU compliance.
Job Knowledge:
- Responsible for all aspects of SPD and inventory control programs in accordance with departmental, AAAHC, Pride Factor, safety, and security procedures.
- Keeps carts and shelves to standards: 6” from floor, 18” from ceiling.
- Maintains all standards associated with Sterile Processing.
- Maintains sterilization logs.
- Demonstrates appropriate awareness of age-specific development needs for the population served as it is related to the performance of department duties.
