Position Summary
The Patient Care Tech is responsible for assisting the operating room staff in the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care for all patient populations.
Primary Functions & Accountabilities
- Replenish all linens in cabinets and warmers.
- Restock linen cart from Linen Company as needed.
- Set up preop bays for morning and as needed throughout the day.
- Cleans and disinfects all items that come in contact with patient after each use.
- Strips all linen, disinfects stretcher or chair, and remakes with clean linen for next use.
- Replenish supplies as used to maintain an adequate PAR level.
- Move patients when needed.
- Holds patients for preps.
- Assist operating room staff with turnover of rooms between cases.
- Assist with the unpacking and restocking of supplies.
- Possess and provide good customer service skills.
- Protect patient's rights, dignity, and privacy.
- Collaborate effectively with other disciplines as appropriate.
- Participate in quality review and performance improvement projects.
- Use problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with team members.
- Maintain required competencies.
- Pursue professional growth with no less than 10 contact hours of education.
- Attend required meetings and educational sessions.
- Act as a patient advocate and maintain privacy of all appropriate information.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Must be able to understand and explain most insurance and billing questions as it pertains to the patient
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Six months of Operating Room Technician experience
- BLS certification
- Basic Computer Skills
