Expected pay for this position is $22.72 - $26.73/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Application Specialist manages a variety of data in programs, databases and external reporting structures to create efficiency, regulatory compliance and data integrity. Responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of complex integrated information systems as required for the efficient operation of the department. Provides end user education and problem solving as required. Coordinates with others to obtain data elements, operational definitions, problem identification and resolution. Responsible for data entry, coordinating, prioritizing and generating a variety of reports. Maintains a working knowledge and ability to design, manage and interpret statistical data.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY:
Functions as an application expert. Operates as first line of support and troubleshoots data and IT issues. Escalates identified issues as appropriate for follow up and resolution.
Provides ongoing daily technical support for all issues related to the use and management of department data, computer system and all its modules.
Coordinates and carries out the implementation of software upgrades and new system modules as approved by the user support organization. Provides the coordination of required user and application documentation for implementation of changes to existing systems.
Designs, implements, modifies and maintains databases, programs and other data elements required for tracking and reporting.
Identifies and recommends changes in system structure processes, and/or policies to support the information system needs.
Designs, produces, interprets, and distributes reports.
Collects, enters and collates various department data, along with assisting in the management of inventory data bases.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School/GED
Experience: 1 year experience working with field specific software systems or information technology.
Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Associates Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Business, or Computer Science, Technical or other equivalency.
