Welcome to Orthopedics! 6 Ortho is a 43 bed unit that treats patients who need acute care due to a stable injury such as a fall with a broken bone, car accident with fracture, etc. 6 Ortho will also serve and care for patients who have an elective surgery such hip replacement, spinal fusion, shoulder repair, or knee replacement. The patients on Ortho may have limitations with mobility requiring extra assistance with the use of mobility aids such as walker, hoyer lift, and quick move. We have a great team that works together and it is a great place to get new experiences.

$3000 Sign On Bonus with a 2-year work commitment
Starting pay for this position is $17.85/hour; base pay offered may increase based on experience.
This position also offers a $2.25/hour 3rd Shift Differential.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant
- CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED Experience
- Six months experience in a clinical healthcare environment
- Six months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients
