What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Science Intern position at OSF HealthCare?
Internship is for summer 2024 - start date of May 28th with an end date of August 2nd or 9th. Student will be required to work in Peoria, IL.
Starting pay for this position is $17.00/hour
POSITION SUMMARY: The Data Science Intern supports the design, development, documentation, deployment, and maintenance of data science products by using a combination of enabling tools including but not limited to SQL and Python. This position also contributes to the analysis, interpretation, presentation of and education on data science solutions in support of OSF HealthCare's strategic objectives.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Current student attending college or university working towards a graduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or other related quantitative discipline.
Experience: Familiarity with analytical methods and how to apply them to large, complex datasets
Familiarity with mapping and analyzing processes and data flows.
Programming experience (Python experience a plus).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills/knowledge.
Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
