What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Cleaning Specialist position at OSF HealthCare?
Starting pay for this position is $16.83/hour.
2nd shift is an additional $1.75/hour.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Surgical Cleaning Specialist ensures that surgery rooms are cleaned and prepared to the highest level of care for the safety of the patients served. Surgical Cleaning Specialists are responsible for the supply management and environmental care functions in surgical and procedural areas. Tasks include the cleaning/disinfecting of soiled surgery rooms and equipment, stocking supplies in the room, preparing stretchers and hospital beds, communicating and working with members of other surgery departments.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High school diploma or GED
Experience:
- 6 months' experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or health care setting
Other Skills/Knowledge:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
- Previous experience working in a team environment
Licensure/Certifications:
- American Heart Association CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Association for the Healthcare Environment/Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT)
