VP Oncology Clinical Care

Expected pay for this position is $67.66 - $89.64/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Vice President Oncology Clinical Care functions as the overall clinical leader for the OSF Cancer Institute. The Vice President Oncology Clinical Care is responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives and operations of the OSF Cancer Institute, related clinics, and physician practices. The Vice President Oncology Clinical Care will be directly responsible for clinical and operational performance evaluation, driving operational excellence, and improving patient experience at the destination center along with serving as a regional liaison across the ministry.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) OR Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)

Experience:

• 5 years’ experience in administrative management and/or medical experience as a facility or system medical director.
• Substantial full-time training and experience in oncology with progressively greater administrative responsibility for clinical programs and/or departments including extensive experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial, or executive capacity.
• Record of success leading clinical programs and/or departments in a hospital, health system, major academic medical center or NCI designated cancer center.
• Demonstrated evidence of interpersonal skills necessary to provide effective leadership to department personnel and develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with medical center personnel, community physicians, and research staff.
• Analytic capabilities demonstrated by work history in the use of data to inform actionable information.
• Including, but not limited to familiarity with the use of basic statistical analysis, scientific figure development, spreadsheet calculations, and database creation.
• Evidence of academic experience in areas of oncology practice such as research, quality improvement, and operations.

Licensure/ Certification:

• Licensed physician in State of Illinois, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license, Illinois Controlled Substance License, Board Certification in Oncology.

• Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills.
• The ability to develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships and collaborative relationships with others inside or outside of the organization. Knowledge of providing support for organizational changes needed to improve the organization’s effectiveness; supporting, initiating, sponsoring, and implementing organizational change; helping others to successfully manage organizational change.
• Broad knowledge and thorough understanding of the trends and forces shaping the cancer patient care, safety, quality and reimbursement areas.
• Management skills which foster the principles of accountability, goal setting, and workforce engagement and commitment to evidence-based healthcare and quantitative assessment.
• Human resource skills that enhance the selection, motivation, engagement, development, evaluation, recognition, and retention of qualified staff.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

• Completion of an approved fellowship program in medical oncology and/or hematology
