Expected pay for this position is $18.43 - $21.69/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Workqueue Specialist investigates and resolves registration errors in order to facilitate timely filing of claims to payers, avoid payer denials, and maximize reimbursement to the organization. The position impacts the clinical and financial integrity of the organization through demonstrated high performance and advanced knowledge of Revenue Cycle processes, rules, and regulations. The position also identifies training opportunities and supports performance improvement efforts through the tracking and trending of errors.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience: 2 years of experience in a healthcare revenue cycle role (Patient Access or Patient Financial Services). Knowledge of accounting and general office procedures.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a related area of study
• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a healthcare revenue cycle setting.
Other skills/knowledge:
• Solid understanding of the revenue cycle including scheduling, registration, financial clearance, billing, and collections. • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
