Altaflex, a division of OSI Electronics, is seeking a Quality Engineer responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing quality and reliability programs designed to ensure quality control, quality assurance, and reliability of the production of products consistent with IPC-6012 and IPC-6013 specifications. Assists with the implementation of relevant work instructions and procedures and helps implement SPC in all critical process areas. Will be responsible for analyzing defective materials for root cause and corrective action, as well as developing scrap and rework reduction programs in conjunction with manufacturing. Will oversee internal quality system engineering support for receiving inspection, in-process inspection audits/support, outgoing QC, and group testing.

• Responsible for the Quality customer and supplier interface to proactively assure requirements are understood and satisfied, including assisting in complaint resolution and root cause and corrective action determination.
• Leads technicians engaged in quality inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
• Maintains the Quality Management System compliant to ISO9001 and ISO13485 standards.
• Leads training and certification to IPC-A-600/610/620 and IPC-6012/6013 standards.
• Collects and analyzes quality metrics and performs reviews to evaluate results and recommend action plans to close gaps at an operational level.
• Applies statistical process control (SPC) to control Production processes.
• Participation in product development and launch activities including identification of customer expectations, manufacturing and test support, reliability analysis, design reviews, evaluation of test programs, and material testing.
• Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team.
• Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.

• It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
• Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a relevant field is required. Experience may be substituted for formal education.
• 3 years professional experience in a manufacturing environment desired.
• FPC/PCB fabrication experience highly preferred
• 3 years of hands-on quality assurance inspection/test/documentation experience in an electronics manufacturing environment required.
• Knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO13485 standards is required.
• Knowledge of IPC-A-600/610/620 and IPC-6012/601 is required.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and test specifications.
• Requires good working knowledge of SPC, FMEA, and DOE techniques.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
