Workforce First Case Manager
JOB SUMMARY
The Workforce First program is a radically low-barrier, short term work opportunity designed to address the immediate income needs of our participants, while simultaneously providing comprehensive case management, life skills support, and job-readiness training. Under the direction of the Workforce First Case Manager Team Lead, the Workforce First Case Manager collaborates with participants on their caseload in establishing stable income, overcoming barriers to employment, housing navigation, and general service navigation. The clients served may also be living with severe mental health challenges and may also have co-occurring substance use disorder and/or chronic health conditions. Services will be rendered through a harm reduction lens, utilizing a person centered, strengths-based, and trauma informed approach.The case management program offered by The Other Ones Foundation has a strong focus on accessing resources, focusing on housing, and moving forward towards goals relating to ending a person’s homeless situation. The Case Manager’s caseload will be racially and culturally diverse. Goals will be based on an individual’s preferences and abilities.
CASE MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a caseload of up to 15 clients;
- Document case notes and progress reports in client files;
- Work to connect clients with available services;
- Develop skills necessary to assist an individual to manage their own challenges;
- Assist with securing income through employment navigation services;
- Provide support for resolving potential barriers to securing housing;
- Help navigate housing resources;
- Work closely with clients for vital record procurement, transportation support, and any other needs identified between case manager and client;
- Work collaboratively with collateral service providers;
- Provide referrals and warm handoffs to community partners;
- Participate and attend teams meetings and case staffing
CASE MANAGER REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with working with individuals that are experiencing homelessness;
- Familiarity of the nuanced sub-culture shared by people experiencing homelessness;
- Able to promote a culture that encourages low barrier access to case management;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Well-organized and apt in problem-solving;
- Willingness to uphold The Other Ones Foundation’s philosophy, mission, & vision;
- Must demonstrate a high level of intercultural competence, an understanding of the diverse identities and cultures of people experiencing homelessness, and in developing and supporting inclusive communities.

Pay Range: $51,675 (non-exempt)
Schedule: 8 hour shift
Work Location: Office, Various Community Locations
Typical Work Hours: 8am-4pm, Monday through Friday
