Job Description:
Our organization is seeking an ABA Behavior Technician to work with a family in Suffolk, VA. He/She will implement and maintain positive behavior support interventions and techniques with a student population with emotional/behavioral disabilities. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attendance and punctuality, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The candidate will receive 30 hours per week during school hours and will find great joy in working with school-aged children. The candidate will also be provided training and be provided with paid certification to become a Registered Behavior Technician.
The schedule for this position is:
Monday-Friday 9-330 (with 30 min lunch)
Responsibilities:
- Conducting data collection and completing reports for each session
- Implementing behavior-based treatment plans
- Teaching parents how to support their children in the classroom
- Supervising the care and treatment of clients at times; ensuring safety and quality care for the children and families
- Building professional relationships with parents, colleagues, and community resources
- Maintaining training materials and supplies
- Working as an advocate for children, families, and the community (e.g., referring clients to community resources)
- Cleaning up after sessions, maintaining data collection materials, and reporting problems/incidents to management.
- Adhering to strict dress and grooming policies (i.e., no jewelry, no baggy clothing)
- Performing other duties as assigned (i.e., picking up after clients, picking up trash)
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred; no experience required - Reliable transportation required - Valid driver's license required - Ability to lift 30 lbs. from start to finish on a regular basis - Strong communication skills (verbal & written) - CPR/First Aid certification preferred but not required - Experience working with children on the autism spectrum preferred but not required but not required we are willing to train!
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
