Duties
The Custodian performs custodial work for the needs of the Christian Children's Center (CCC). Must be detail-oriented, persistent, helpful, team-minded and cooperative. The position reports directly to the Director of the CCC.
Hours 18-20 per week, evening and occasional weekend hours
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas, including classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces
- Conduct floor care such as sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, and shampooing, to keep surfaces pristine and safe
- Maintain cleanliness of windows, glass partitions, and fixtures to uphold high standards of appearance
- Clean and change filters for the heating and cooling systems
- Handle custodial tasks related to trash removal, recycling collection, and restocking supplies to ensure smooth daily operations
- Assist with the inventory and purchase of janitorial supplies as needed. Must be able to lift and move boxes and supplies
- Follow safety protocols during all cleaning and maintenance activities to prevent accidents or hazards
- Work cooperatively with the CCC staff, boards and committees

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings with a strong understanding of cleaning procedures and safety standards
- Proficient in the use of janitorial equipment
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize projects and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Must be able to stand for extended period of time, able to lift or move up to 30 lbs.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
