What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapy technician position at Outpatient Physical Therapy?
We are seeking a dynamic Technician for our Physical Therapy Department.
Brief Job Description:
- Implement, as directed by supervisors, individualized treatment plans in an individual setting.
- Be familiar and follow through with all patient therapeutic goals.
- Collect data in an individual setting.
- Attend weekly meetings.
- Participate in on-going training events.
- Prepare therapy areas prior to the start of therapy sessions.
- Sanitize and return work materials to designated areas at the end of therapy sessions.
- Prepare therapy/work materials.
- Commitment to company values.
- Must be able to utilize therapy software appropriately and accurately.
- Must exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
- Must demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
- Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment.
- Must be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move. intermittently during working hours.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Office Duties – To include answering phones/how to operate the phones, how to take a referral, how to schedule patients including documenting cxl, NS and R/S of patients, how to take a co-pay/patient supply order, where to locate a supply for the clinic or for patient purchase, how to locate charts in the chart drawer, where necessary paper work is located, how to make up a new chart, how to use copiers/fax machine, how to administer initial evaluation paperwork and other tasks deemed necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS

- Required – High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Skills – Ability to communicate effectively, knowledge of physical therapy equipment and care, ability to follow written and oral instruction, ability to assist and prepare patients for treatment with various therapeutic exercises and equipment.
Work Environment

- Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc…) most of the workday.
- Required to exert physical effort in handling objects less than 150 pounds.
- Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, etc): rarely
- Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves chemicals, lead, dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements: rarely.
- Normal setting for this job is: outpatient clinic
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close and Far vision.
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually of moderate volume
