Outreach – Warrenville is a multi-purpose community service agency serving the residents in the Warrenville area. Programs include the Community Counseling Center, Case Management Assistance, Mentoring and Quest - an after-school/summer-school program for middle school aged youth.
Job Responsibilities:
The Junior High Youth Worker will be a member of the Quest staff providing after school services to at-risk junior high students in the Warrenville community. Responsibilities include working with groups of students in academic instruction, community service, life skills instruction and recreational activities, behavior management, team building activities and transporting students to and from the program. Additional responsibilities include record keeping, tuition tracking and fee collection.
Requirements:
High school Diploma required; some college preferred. Group experience with adolescents; ability to engage and build effective relationships with junior high students; experience with and sensitivity to the needs of students from low-income, high-risk families. Valid IL Driver’s License, safe driving record and proof of insurance. Basic computer skills. A commitment to Outreach’s Statement of Mission and Faith is required. Spanish language skills a plus.
Status:
Temporary from mid August 2022 – June 2, 2023.
Part-time at 19-24 hours per week. Monday – Friday from 2:45pm - 6:30pm. Hours vary during school breaks and holiday weeks. Some evening or weekend hours are required for special events and other program needs.
Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position falls between 14.50-$16.50 based on education, skills, language ability and experience.
