Job Summary:
The Toddler Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment for children ages 1-2 years old. This role includes implementing age-appropriate learning activities, ensuring the health and safety of all children, and fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Primary Responsibilities:Classroom Management & Supervision:
- Supervise and ensure the safety of toddlers at all times.
- Maintain a structured yet flexible daily schedule that supports active learning and development.
- Follow all daycare policies and state regulations regarding child supervision, discipline, and safety.
- Keep the classroom clean, organized, and inviting for children.
Curriculum & Developmental Activities:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that support toddlers' cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
- Encourage language development through books, songs, and interactive play.
- Foster independence in self-help skills such as feeding, dressing, and toileting.
- Provide sensory and hands-on learning experiences to encourage exploration.
Health & Safety:
- Ensure all toys, materials, and surfaces are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
- Follow proper handwashing and diapering procedures as per daycare policies and licensing guidelines.
- Administer first aid as needed and document any incidents properly.
- Observe children for signs of illness or developmental concerns and report them to the Director.
Parent Communication:
- Provide daily updates to parents through Brightwheel regarding meals, naps, diaper changes, and activities.
- Address parent concerns professionally and refer issues to the Director as necessary.
- Build positive relationships with parents to support each child’s growth and development.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with co-teachers and staff to maintain a positive and productive environment.
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development as required.
- Support team members in classroom coverage when necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; CDA or associate degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with infants or toddlers in a childcare setting.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).
- Understanding of child development and age-appropriate practices.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift 25-30 pounds and actively engage with toddlers at their level.
Work Schedule & Expectations:
- Must be available for flexible scheduling within daycare hours.
- Ability to sit, stand, and move frequently throughout the day.
- Maintain a warm, patient, and energetic demeanor.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
