Overdrive Customs is rapidly expanding, and we are currently looking for a new body technician to join the team. We do custom body, restoration, and insurance claim type paint and body work.
Other duties will include but not limited to automotive body disassembly, reassembly, sanding, blocking, skim coating, welding, and any other basic body shop activities. We’re looking for applicants with experience but will consider on-the-job training for loyal and passionate individuals.
The ideal candidate will be eager to perform body work duties and facilitate dent repairs in a brand new 8000 square foot climate controlled environment where all professional tools are provided. We have a state of the art body facility that’s insulated to the weather outside including a professional car lift, air tools, and professional paint booth.

Body Technician Responsibilities
- Determine and investigate any body related issues or damage using skilled expertise and body shop tools
- Help establish service protocols for building, repairing, and restoring customer cars, trucks, vans, motorcycles
- Apply a checklist-based approach to ensure a comprehensive examination of all work performed to achieve maximum compensation through time bound assignments
- Our main focus is paint and body but may be asked to utilize auto mechanic skills for custom builds as needed or requested by customers
- Follow all manufacturer specifications for vehicle body and paint repairs to ensure optimum customer satisfaction and facilitate returning business
- Clearly articulate automotive body repair issues and repairs needed to remedy them to both customers and shop owner
Automotive Technician Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is desired
- Post-secondary training program in automotive service technology; associate degree a plus
- Automotive Service Excellence/ASE certification or Society of Automotive Engineers/SAE certification is a plus
- Strong customer service and communications skills are needed
Body Technician Compensation
Overdrive customs prides itself in not only paying a competitive wage but being fair and upfront with our customers. We do this by providing the best service at a price that is reasonable and a quality that cannot be beat.
Depending on experience and resume, we’re offering $12hr (apprenticeship) up to $28hr for highly experienced individuals. Pay is commission based but we currently are booked up through 2022 with work! Come join the team and grow us!

- 20 years custom paint and body restoration automotive builds
- 2 years UTI mechanic and body school graduate
- 1 year Tulsa welding school graduate
