POSITION SUMMARY
Involved in the maintenance, repair and installation of industrial machinery, refrigeration, electrical and mechanical systems in a food processing plant. Ensure that all production equipment is maintained and in proper operating order. Diagnose equipment and machinery failures or problems and take corrective action with minimal supervision. Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery and documents all reports and logs. Repairs and or replaces parts as needed including fabricating parts on lathes and milling machines, welding or soldering as required for the job. Works on refrigeration components and starts compressors as required. Uses variety of hand and power tools, saws, and welding equipment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
•Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production line and facility equipment.
•Perform preventive maintenance routines on all equipment.
•Collaborate in the design and installation of new equipment or layouts.
•Work with the operation of production line equipment.
•Assist in the other areas of plant maintenance as needed.
•Maintain proper housekeeping in all areas.
•Assist in other duties as assigned by management.
•Trouble shooting and diagnosis of mechanical and electrical failures.
•Pump repairs and rebuilds – centrifugal and positive displacement.
•System troubleshooting techniques including schematic reading.
•Construction electrical skills- Volt meters, changing fuses, VFD, tracing shorts.
•Experience with automated and high-speed packaging equipment
•Knowledge of and experience with computerized maintenance management systems
•Able to trouble shoot pneumatic and mechanical equipment.
•Electrical Experience – 2 years
REQUIREMENTS
•High school diploma or GED.
•Able to read and write English.
•Previous operating experience in a manufacturing facility, or similar relevant experience
•Able to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary)
•3 - 5 years’ experience in manufacturing or equal experience in a related position
•Must be able to lift 50lbs.
