The company also has a diverse range of construction equipment including backhoes, loaders, dump trucks, tag trailers, enclosed trailers and more. He/she will also work with other corporate owned companies to locate vehicles.

The Role

He/she will also work with other corporate owned companies to locate vehicles.
Responsibilities
The National Fleet Manager will be responsible for:
- Develop and implement strategies to improve fleet performance, reduce costs, and enhance safety.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with leasing companies, fuel providers, maintenance vendors, and other service providers.
- Managing the mixed fleet of vehicles at multiple states and locations for accuracy on maintenance, repair, upkeep and turnover
- Manages mechanics ensuring all vehicles meet safety regulations, DOT requirements, and company policies.
- Planning and scheduling new vehicle acquisitions based on predictive analysis for budgeting purposes
- Measures fleet health using KPI’s to determine overall fleet efficiency in order to optimize vehicles, parts, service, replacement times and driver performance
- Works closely with staff accounting department for vehicle titling, registrations and finance
- Works with CFO or Finance Director for approval on new capital expenses
- Works with HR for employee-driver hiring criteria
- Builds and maintains relationships with vendor networks, third party service administrators and service writers to negotiate labor rates and fair service.
- Fleet manager also serves as the primary contact concerning vehicles and fleet operations
- Prior experience working with 3 rd party fleet service management companies
- Past history working for a service focused organization
- Ability to process/analyze fleet data to maintain an optimal fleet of service vehicles
- College degree preferred
- Proficient on a computer
- Understanding of auto-mechanics
- Experienced with creating/establishing fleet policies and procedures
- Understanding of price, spec, purchase of new vehicles and understanding total cost of ownership (TCO)
- Has an understanding of FMCSR and DOT compliance
- Some travel required to regional offices
