Job Summary
In the role of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), you will provide direct patient care under the supervision of nursing staff, ensure that patients are comfortable and that their needs are met in a timely and compassionate manner. This role involves supporting medical staff, monitoring patient health, and assisting with a variety of treatments and therapies in a specialized healthcare setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Vital Signs and Monitoring:
- Measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiratory rate) and body weight.
- Perform InBody weight measurements to analyze body composition, including muscle mass and fat percentage.
- Conduct resting metabolic rate (RMR) breath testing to assess the patient’s metabolism, as directed by the medical team.
- Assist nurses with monitoring intravenous infusions to ensure proper administration.
2. Treatment Assistance:
- Administer and apply topical treatments as per nurse directive.
- Assist with placing virtual reality (VR) goggles on patients as part of therapeutic or relaxation treatments.
- Apply normatec compression sleeves as directed to support circulation and reduce swelling.
- Perform ultrasound treatments** under nurse supervision.
- Administer topical cold laser treatments as indicated by the medical team.
3. Thermal Therapy Support:
- Sit with patients during sauna hyperthermia treatments, providing comfort and monitoring their condition throughout the session.
- Apply regional radio frequency topical hyperthermia treatments according to nursing instructions.
4. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Assistance:
- Accompany patients during hyperbaric oxygen treatments, monitor patient comfort, and assist as needed during the session.
5. Patient Comfort and Support:
- Provide emotional and physical support to patients throughout their treatments.
- Assist with mobility, transferring, and positioning as needed.
- Ensure patient rooms are maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
Qualifications:
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
- Prior experience in a clinical or therapeutic setting is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and follow directions from nurses and other healthcare professionals.
