Material Handler

Summary:

The shipping department is responsible for the movement of material inside the facility as well as the coordination of material outside, whether it is incoming from a supplier or outgoing to a customer. It works very closely with the manufacturing departments to ensure that parts are available when needed at every stage of production. It is an integral part of Cambridge’s fast paced, dynamic environment.

Job Functions:

· Material handling – moving parts throughout the facility using pallet jacks, fork trucks, etc.

· Shipping – packing and organizing parts for shipments, loading trucks, completing required paperwork, ensuring proper documentation, etc.

· Receiving – unloading trucks, verifying proper documentation, etc.

· Inventory and reconciliation

Skills:

· Basic Math skills

· Strong command of written and verbal English.

· Ability to follow work instructions verbally and through visual aids provided.

· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others.

· Strong work ethic and desire for personal and operations excellence.

· Demonstrates a high level of dependability in all aspects of the job.

· Ability to learn and properly apply new job-related information in a timely manner.

· Ability to move materials using pallet jacks safely

· Performs jobs in a manner that minimizes hazards to self, others and the environment. Maintains a physical work environment that contributes to the well-being of others. Being aware of conditions or circumstances that affect one’s own safety or the safety of others.

· Forklift training Preferred

Required Experience:

· Experience in a fast paced manufacturing or similar environment preferred.

Physical Demands:

· The ability to spend 8 hours on one’s feet bending, lifting, and moving frequently

· Regularly remain in a stationary position at work station.

· Frequently lifts, moves and carries parts weighing up to 50lbs.

· Must be able to Ascend/Descend stairs.

· Must be able to Sit, Walk, Climb, Stoop, Kneel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift

Experience:

• Warehouse experience: 1 year (Preferred)
