RN Consultant Introduction PACE Education provides high quality early childhood education and support services for children aged 0 5 and economically disadvantaged families In addition to early childhood education the program also provides health nutrition mental health and parent empowermentinvolvement services This program is funded by the Los Angeles County Office of Education LACOE and operated under Head Start and California Community Care Licensing guidelines and regulations PACE Education currently operates 15 pre school centers serving 564 3 5 years old children each year in the metro Los Angeles and South Bay area and 270 children ages 0 3pregnant women are served through our Early Head Start program PACE Education is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse Consultant to support our Head Start and Early Head Start programs at least 10 hoursweek Position Responsibilities Review healthdental documents tuberculosis and immunization records for completion and assess the need for referral or follow up as necessary Assist and support the Health Unit composed of the Clinical HealthNutrition Administrator and Licensed Vocational Nurse in pre service trainings and health file reviews Serve as a resource for PACE Education staff in addressing the medical needs of children Conduct school readiness health trainings for parents and PACE staff Develop Individualized Health Plans IHPs for children with medical conditions Review IHPs developed by Licensed Vocational Nurse Communicate with healthcare providers in obtaining results and follow up for medical referrals Assist in linking families to community healthcare resources to ensure continuity of health and dental care Refer children with various needs to the appropriate service areas ie nutrition mental health disabilities family services etc Other duties assigned by the Clinical HealthNutrition Administrator within the scope of the role QUALIFICATIONS Bilingual EnglishSpanish highly desirable Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse Must have use of an automobile with adequate insurance coverage Must have a valid California Drivers License 2 3 years of nursing experience in community health andor nursing administration and supervision Prior Head Start experience preferred Knowledge and interest in maternal child and family health care that includes preventative and early intervention Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work with computers and Excel Knowledge of ChildPlus preferred Availability during school days and hours as scheduled for health services to children and parent education workshops SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must pass the following background checks prior to start of employment through LiveScan screening costs not covered by PACESex Offender RegistryChild Abuse and Neglect State RegistryState or Tribal Criminal History Check including fingerprintsFBI Criminal History Check including fingerprints Must have verification of TB clearance prior to contract initiation to be renewed every four 4 years every 4 years for chest x raysMust pass health screening LIC 503 prior to contract initiation health screening is accepted within one year prior to contract to be renewed every four 4 yearsProvide proof of the following immunizations as required Measles Pertussis Whooping Cough Influenza and COVID 19Must complete annual professional development in alignment with license requirements and submit documentation annually To be considered as a consultant with PACE please submit the following 1 Letter of interest indicating services to be provided 2 Resume to highlight qualifications and work experience 3 Requested Hourly rate 4 Business LicenseSole Proprietorship Name if available 5 Federal Taxpayer Identification Number if available This is an on going opening All interested parties must submit documents to PACE Education Assistant Director Direct Services Araceli Espinoza at 1055 Wilshire Blvd Suite 1050 Los Angeles CA 90017 Phone 213 989 3244; Email aespinozapacelaorg
